Statements of Faith
1. THE TRIUNE GOD
We believe in one eternally existing and infinite God, the Sovereign of the universe. That He is the only God, Creator and Administrator, Holy in nature, attributes and purposes. That He, as God, is Triune in His essential being, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14).
2. JESUS CHRIST
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Divine Trinity; (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14) that He is eternally one with the Father (John 10:30, 14:9); who was incarnated by the work of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary, so that two whole and perfect natures, that is, Deity and humanity, were united in one Person, true God and true man, the God – Man. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins (Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 1 Peter 3:18), and that He truly rose from death and took His body again, along with all that pertains to the perfection of human nature, thereby He ascended to heaven from where He intercedes for us (Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25, 1 John 2:1).
3. HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4), the Third Person of the Divine Trinity (Romans 8:9, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14), who is always present and effectively active in and together with the Church of Christ, convincing the world of sin, regenerating those who repent and believe, sanctifying believers and guiding all truth according to Jesus Christ.
4. THE SACRED SCRIPTURES
We believe in the plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures by which we understand the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, given by divine inspiration, infallibly revealing God’s will to us in everything necessary to our salvation; so that nothing they do not contain is not to be imposed as an article of faith (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).
5. THE ORIGINAL SIN OR DEPRAVITY
We believe that the original sin, that is, depravity, is that corruption of the nature of the whole offspring of Adam (Romans 3:23), which is why every human being is far removed from the original justice, that is, from the state of purity of our first parents at the time of their creation; which is adverse to God, without spiritual life, and is continuously inclined to evil; and that this depravity continues to exist in man’s new life until he is washed away by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:12).
6. THE PROPITIATION
We believe that Jesus Christ, by his sufferings, by pouring his precious blood and by his meritorious death on the cross(Romans 3:25), enjoyed a full propitiation; that this propitiation is the only basis of salvation (1 Peter 2:24), and that it is enough for every individual of the Adam’s race. Propitiation is benignly effective for the salvation of the irresponsible and for children in their innocence (Revelation 5:9-10), but for those who reach the age of responsibility, it is only effective for their salvation when they repent and believe.
7. FREE WILL
We believe that man’s creation in the image of God included the ability to choose between good and evil (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:22), and that he was therefore made morally responsible; that by the fall of Adam he became depraved, so that he cannot by his own natural forces and works to turn and prepare for faith and to invoke God. But God’s grace for Jesus Christ is freely bestowed upon all men (Deuteronomy 30:15-16), empowering all who want to turn from sin to justice, to believe in Jesus Christ for forgiveness and cleansing of sin, and to follow good deeds pleasingly and accept in his sight. We believe that man, even if he possesses the experience of regeneration and whole sanctification, can fall from grace and turn away, unless he repents of his sin will be lost eternally and without hope.
8. REPENTANCE
We believe that repentance, which is a sincere and complete change of mind regarding sin (Acts 3:19, Matthew 3:2), with the recognition of personal guilt and the voluntary separation of sin, is demanded of all those who by action or purpose have become sinners against God (Proverbs 28:13). The Spirit of God gives to all who want to repent, the benign help of contrition of heart and hope for mercy, so that they may believe in forgiveness and achieve spiritual life.
9. JUSTIFICATION, REGENERATION, AND ADOPTION
We believe that justification is that benign and judicial act of God, by which He grants full forgiveness of all guilt (Romans 3:24-26, Romans 5:1), the complete remission of the penalty of sins committed, and acceptance as righteous by those who in faith receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
10. SANCTIFICATION
Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil and dedication to God; (Romans 12:1,2; 1st. Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12). The Holy Scriptures teach a holiness of life without which “no one shall see the Lord”; (Hebrews 12:14). By the power of the Holy Ghost we can obey the commandment of, “Be holy, for I am holy”; (1 Peter 1:15, 16). Sanctification is carried out (performed) in the believer by his recognition and identification with Christ in His death and resurrection and by daily trust in that union and by the continuous offering to the dominion of the Holy Spirit of all faculties. (Romans 6:1-11,13; 8:1, 2, 13; Galatians 2:20; Philippians 2:12, 13).
11. THE BLESSED HOPE
The resurrection of those who sleep in Christ and his transfer together with those who live and remain until the coming of the Lord is the eminent and blessed hope of the Church (1 Corinthians 15:51, 52). The Second Coming of Christ includes the abduction of the saints, which constitutes the blessed hope of the believer, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for a thousand years. (Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:25, 30; Revelation 1:7; 19:11, 14; 20:1- ). The millennial kingdom will bring salvation from Israel as a nation (Ezekiel 37:21, 22; Zephaniah 3:19, 20; Romans 11:26, 27) and the establishment of universal peace (Isaiah 11:6-9; Psalm 72:3-8; Micah 4:3, 4). There will be a final judgment in which all the wicked dead will rise up and be judged according to their works; and he who is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, shall be consigned to eternal punishment in the lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 19:20; 20:11, 15; 21:8). We, according to His promises, expect new heavens and new earth in which justice dwells (2 Peter. 3:13; Revelation 21:22).
12. CHURCH’S ORDINANCES
A. BAPTISM IN WATER
The ordinance of baptism by immersion is ordained in the scriptures. All who repent and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord must be baptized. Baptism by immersion is done in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost and is the testimony of the new birth in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. In this way a testimony is given to the world that he has died with Christ and that together with Him he has risen to newness of life (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47, 48; Romans 6:4).
B. THE LORD’S DINNER
The Lord’s Dinner, consisting of the elements: bread and the fruit of the vine, is the symbolic expression that denotes our participation in the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4); and a prophecy of His Second Coming (1 Corinthians 11:26); It is an ordinance for all believers, “until he comes.” Since Baptism is the testimony of the new birth and the Lord’s Supper witness to the development of the Christian life, only all believers baptized by immersion can partake of it.
13. DIVINE HEALING
We believe in the Bible Doctrine of Divine Health and warn our people to strive to offer the prayer of faith for the healing of the sick. Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel, the deliverance of every disease has been provided for us by the atoning sacrifice of Christ (Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 16:16, 17; James 5:14–16). Doctors and providential agencies should not be refused when necessary.
14. THE CHURCH
A. The Church is the Body of Christ, the abode of God through the Spirit, divinely appointed to the fulfillment of his Great Commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the General Assembly or Church of the Firstborn, whose names are written in heaven (Ephesians 1:22, 23; 2:22, 23). God’s purpose concerning man is to seek and save what had been lost, to be worshiped by man, and to build a body of believers in the image of His Son, the primary reason for existence. Although, it is considered completely independent, with a defined mission and governing autonomy, the US and International Law Enforcement and Firefighters Chaplain Corps is a ministry of the IGLESIA MISIONERA LEVANTANDO MANOS SANTAS, INC. (Missionary Church Rising Saints Hands, Inc.), as part of the Church has: 1. To be a body in which man may worship God (1 Corinthians 12:13). 2. To be an agency of God for the evangelization of the world (Acts 1:8; Matthew 15:16). 3. If it is a channel by which God’s purpose is to build a body of saints perfected in the image of his Son to be done (Ephesians 4:11-6; 1 Corinthians 12:28; 14:12).
B. Also, the US and International Law Enforcement and Firefighters Chaplain Corps as a ministry of the IGLESIA MISIONERA LEVANTANDO MANOS SANTAS, INC. (Missionary Church Rising Saints Hands, Inc.), exists expressly to place continuous emphasis on this reason for its existence, in the New Testament apostolic form, teaching and encouraging believers to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. This experience: Enables them to evangelize in the power of the Holy Spirit by accompanying them the supernatural signs (Mark 16:15, 20; Acts 4:29-31; 2:3, 4).
- Add a necessary dimension to the adorable relationship with God (1st. Corinthians 2:10-16; 12:13, 14). It enables them to respond to the total work of the Holy Spirit, expressing the fruit, gifts, and ministries, as in New Testament times, for the building up of the body of Christ (Galatians 5:22-26; 1 Corinthians 14:12; Ephesians 4:11, 12; 1 Corinthians 12:28; Colossians 1:29).
15. THE SABBATH/DAY OF REST
The first day of the week is for physical rest, for worship and fellowship, in which only works of need and mercy should be done (Matthew 28:1; 1 Corinthians 14:13; Ephesians 4:11, 12; 1 Corinthians 12:28; Colossians 1:29).
16. TITHES / OFFERINGS
God commands believers to pay their tithes for the sustaining of ministry and to give offerings for the various expenses of the Lord’s work, as well as to help the poor, widows, and the sick (Genesis 28:20-22; 3:10; Matthew 23:23; 2 Corinthians 9:6-9).
17. MARRIAGE
Marriage is a union for life, and according to the teachings of the Lord Jesus there is only one cause for divorce: fornication. (Matthew 19:9). We believe that a believer should not marry if his spouse lives (Mark 10:11, 12). And we are against the marriage of believers with converts. Although there may be other causes and conditions such that they can justify a divorce in accordance with civil law, only adultery is a scriptural basis for divorce and only adultery provides the basis that the spouse can justify remarrying ( Matthew 5:31,32; 19:3).
18. GOVERNMENTS OF THE WORLD
We believe that the governments of the world are permitted by God and we are grateful to those who consecrate freedom of worship and human rights in their constitutions. On the other hand, we believe what the Bible teaches of “not killing”, loving our neighbor as ourselves and not avenging ourselves, for “my is revenge,” God says, “I will pay.” We declare ourselves ready to serve the homeland cheerfully in any “non-combatant” service.
ATTIRE
A. We believe that men and women should dress honestly and that it is disgraceful to show their nudity (1 Peter 3:1-7; 1 Timothy 2:9-11; 3:2-13).
B. Women should dress femininely and man masculinely (Deuteronomy 22:5; Romans 1:26, 27).
C. We believe that the Christian woman should not cut her hair because she is dishonored (1 Corinthians 11:6, 15). We think it is dishonest that the male will let his hair grow (1 Corinthians 11:14). We believe that neither man nor woman should rely on artificial ornaments and paintings for the limbs of the body, nor use unnecessary pearls or ornaments (1 Peter 3:1-7; Isaiah 3:16-24; Romans 13:14).
20. GAMBLING
We believe, once it is saved, in abstaining from engaging in gambling, such as bingo, lotteries, raffles and others because this shows distrust in God’s providence, according to Psalm 23:1.
21. CULTISM
We believe in not engaging with spiritualists, soothsayers and beliefs related to occultism, and in not praying to the dead (Deuteronomy 18:9-12; Leviticus 19:31; Isaiah 8:19-22; Revelation 21:8; 22:15). The practice of spiritualism is condemned by the Scriptures (1 Chronicles 10:13-14; Leviticus 20:6; 2 Kings 21:6-12).
22. HOMOSEXUALITY/LESBIANISM
Inverted sexual orientation, attraction or sexual intercourse between individuals of the same sex. Such a sexual act deprives the gift of life. Biblical Base:
Genesis 1:27-28 and Genesis 5:2 Created as a man and a woman with a reproductive purpose.
- Genesis 2; 22-24- Divine Mandate for sexual intercourse approved and ordained by God.
- Leviticus 18;22 Divine Prohibition.
- Leviticus 20:13 It is Abomination.
- Other Quotes Roman 1:18-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:9-10. Because homosexualism and lesbianism are Godly forbidden practices in His Word, we reaffirm to be against such practices. Although we affirm that there is forgiveness and freedom in Jesus Christ for those who renounce such practices and believe in Him.
23. ORGANS DONATION
As we do not have a biblical basis that approves or disapproves of organ donation, we refrain from approving or disapproving of such action by leaving it to personal discretion stating the following: Organ transplantation is not morally acceptable if the donor or his representatives have not given their conscious consent. Organ transplantation is in accordance with the Moral Law and may be meritorious if the physical or psychic hazards and risks supervening to the donor are provided for the purpose sought in the recipient. It is morally inadmissible to directly provoke in humans the mutilation that leaves him invalid or his death, even if it is to delay the death of others.
24. EUTHANASIA
Easy death, free of severe pain. It is the act or omission that by its nature has as its object and intention to cause death (or cause death) to put an end to pain and/or suffering. It’s a matter of intent and method. Biblical base: Euthanasia is morally and biblically inadmissible for the following reasons:
A. For being a violation of Divine law.
B. Being an offense to the dignity of a human being.
C. For being a crime against human life.
D. For being an attack on humans.
E. It is criminal to deprive a person directly of a time that could be decisive for his eternal salvation Quotes: Genesis 2:7, Exodus 20:13, Deuteronomy 5:17, 1 Samuel 2:6, Leviticus 19:16, Job 27:8, Matthew 5:21, Luke 18:20; 1 Peter 4:15.
25. ABORTION
It is the expulsion or premature removal of the zygote, embryo or fetus. Abortion has medical, legal, theological, ethical and personal ramifications. God’s law is severely contrary to the moral malice of any miscarriage, which is desired as an end or means. As God the giver of life and a custodian of it, he has entrusted to us, men, the worthy mission of preserving life. It is therefore our duty to protect life with the most special care from conception, so infanticide and abortion that entails evil and premeditation are abominable crimes. Biblical Base:
- Prenatal care of God: Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5.
B. Legality of God on Life. Deuteronomy 27:25; Job 10:8-12; Psalms 71:6, 119:73; Isaiah 46:3-4. Note: All pregnancies that are the product of sexual abuse or incest, the victim should be well oriented and helped professionally and the victim does not wish to remain with the fruit of their sexual encounter, the child should be given up. It is better to give for adoption any creature than to cause an abortion.
26. SEXUAL PROMISCUITY
State, quality or instinct characterized by an uncontrolled desire for sexual appetite, either with one or more people indiscriminately. The sexual act between a man and a woman outside marriage is seriously contrary to the dignity of people and of human sexuality, naturally ordained to the good of spouses, as well as to the procreation of children. The deliberate and unbridled use of sexual faculty in and out of normal marital relations contradicts its purpose whatever reason it determines. 1 Corinthians 15:20, Hebrews 13:4.
27. CREMATION
Action or process of incinerating the body (a dead body) and turning it into ash. We consider that the body of a deceased deserves the dignity of being buried or buried in the best possible way without being cremated, because this is the Judaeo-Christian practice. The Bible gives us broad examples of such a practice. Genesis 35:29, Deuteronomy 24:5-6, Joshua 7:25-26, Matthew 27:57-61, Acts 2:29.
28. INCEST
It comes from Latin, incestum, not chaste. It is the carnal act between people united by kinship links within the blood yearly grades. Carnal relationship between relatives within the degrees to which marriage is forbidden. God established laws on marriage, it is true that at the beginning of humans the brothers married the sisters because there was no one else to marry. Already well-established race, God forbade marital union between inbred people. For example, under the Mosaic Law a man could not marry his sister, his mother’s sister, or his daughter-in-law. These same prohibitions generally dominate the world today. Even in non-Christian societies. Leviticus 18:6-20, 20:17, 19-21, Deuteronomy 22:30, 1 Corinthians 5:1-5.
29. SECULAR HUMANISM
A system of doctrines and practices that refuses all religious forms of faith and worship. We reject secular Humanism because the relationship between man and his Creator is violent by elevating man to such a level where God is not a necessary factor in man’s life and salvation. We recognize the intrinsic values of man’s life. Biblical Base: Job 33:12, Psalm 14:1, Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, Jeremiah 9:29-34, Ezekiel 28:1,9, Romans 1:20-21, Galatians 2:20, Hebrews 14:13, 1 Corinthians 6:1-11, 2 Peter 1:4-8.
